Earth Day 2007

Forty-two volunteers, including Friends members, several local citizens and students and teachers from the Eastham Elementary School Kids Taking Action club participated in the Earth Day clean-up on April 28. Together they collected a record forty bags of trash from the roadside along Ocean View Drive in Eastham and Wellfleet, and the paths and parking lots of Coast Guard and Nauset Light beaches in Eastham and McGuire Landing, White Crest and Newcomb Hollow beaches in Wellfleet. This activity was not only a celebration of Earth Day, but also a part of the national Keep America Beautiful Campaign.
