Great Island Trail, Wellfleet
This hike explores the wooded trails and beaches of Great Island. Natural history and wildlife, the Herring River restoration, and local research will be covered, led by FCCNS Board Members Melissa Lowe and Agnes Mittermayr. The walk is 4-5 miles on a sandy trail. Wear comfortable shoes for hiking, dress in layers, and bring drinking water. Bring binoculars if you have them. Walks will occur in the sunshine and light showers; however, they are canceled in heavy rain. Meet at the Great Island Visitors Parking lot off of Chequessett Neck Road.
