In the summer of 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed the legislation that would protect Cape Cod's shores for generations. Sixty-five years on, that vision endures — and a new partnership carries it forward.

Upon arrival, explore the Buttonbush Trail: The Friends' latest park restoration project is a national model for accessible public lands.

Reception & National Seashore Museum: Enjoy light bites and refreshments as the sun settles over Salt Pond, with remarks from park leadership and organizational hosts, and self-guided tours of the museum.

Keynote & Discussion with National Seashore Historian, Bill Burke: Historical reflections on the founding era of the Seashore — the political will, the people, and the vision — brought to life with special selections from the park archives. Q&A to follow.

Commemorative Moments The evening includes the presentation of the JFK Hyannis Museum Scholarship to Sebastian Verslycke, honoring a young steward of President Kennedy's legacy. We will also celebrate the new partnership between our two organizations and raise a toast to the next 65 years.
