Atwood-Higgins House c. 1730 Cape Cod House

 
 

Learn the fascinating history of the Atwood-Higgins House on Bound Brook Island, Wellfleet, which is the oldest house within the confines of the Cape Cod National Seashore. 

Alice Iacuessa and Steve Munroe board members of the Friends of Cape Cod National Seashore will guide this free talk about the importance of this house and its location on the Herring River.  Come learn the story of George Higgins who inherited the property in 1919 and set about restoring it to his idea of an 18th century homestead. The walk will include a tour of the inside of the house as well as the surrounding property.

Note:  There will be some walking on uneven surfaces.
