Hatches Harbor, Provincetown
Join us for a family-friendly guided walk along the Hatches Harbor Trail in Provincetown, led by Dr. Agnes Mittermayr, Marine Ecologist at the Center for Coastal Studies. Together, we’ll explore the beautiful marsh and harbor while learning about the unique ecology of this special part of the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Parking Details
Location: Please meet FCCNS staff at the north end of the Herring Cove parking lot near the vault bathroom facilities close to the start of the Province Lands Bike trail entry point at 9:45 AM. From there, we will organize folks to carpool 5 cars into the sandlot at the start of the Hatches Harbor Trail.

ABOUT
Dr. Agnes Mittermayr is a marine ecologist at the Center for Coastal Studies. For the past 10 years she has researched biodiversity and food webs along the coasts of Cape Cod, creating benthic habitat maps, monitoring eelgrass and studying how the physical and chemical environment influences biological communities underwater. In 2023, Agnes became director of SeagrassNet, a global monitoring effort of seagrasses from South Korea to Brazil. During her time in, on, and under water she has come across many interesting finds, biological and otherwise.
