This 1995 film is based on the events of the April, 1970 Apollo 13 lunar mission. Astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert were nearing lunar orbit when an oxygen tank exploded, threatening their oxygen supply that resulted in the mission being scrubbed. The follows the crew and NASA engineers as they problem solve to get the crew safely back to Earth. The film stars Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, the late Bill Paxton and Gary Sinise. Rated PG. (2h, 20m)
