The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) sponsors this beach cleanup (Earth Day proper), hosted by the CCS Marine Debris & Plastics Program. This is not your typical cleanup. Bring a lunch, get ready to hike, and participate in this ambitious effort to comb Wood End, the breakwater, and the area between Long Point and Herring Cove in Provincetown. Large caches of debris will be set up for later removal by boat. This cleanup effort is essential because the winter weather deposits plastic trash including aquaculture gear.
